It's actually a shame, that the largest part of the human race can't never experience the pleasure of walking on water. Suppose it's down to global climate patterns and fair enough, it's probably better, that we don't have solid ice on the equator. But yet you have to feel sorry for the people.
It's the winter break, or the first week of the nation wide skiing holiday here in southern part of Finland. The break is divided in three groups, based on our geography and also due to economical resons. This year we have also enjoyed, a nice winter weather here in the south. We actually have real snow and I just read, that even in Helsinki there is atleast 5 km of good snow covered tracks for cross country skiing. The noble sport has never been my strongest points, but I still do like the whole winter season. When living here with four different seasons, it is just better to adjust and enjoy the both ends of the spectrum.
In my oppinnion the weather was especially nice today, as the wind was a bit down from yesturday. I even dared myself to go walking on water. The sea is actually frozen up, for atleast a good kilometer from the shoreline. The ice is atleast 10 cm thick and is likely to be even more in several places. Meaning that it is relatively safe to go out and enjoy the experience.
For me there is something special about it, it always feels new and I'm thrilled to take the first steps on the flat and cold surface. It almost feels like magic. Walking on water, several meters above the solid ground.
